Paralegal II (Criminal Division)

Position Summary: The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Criminal Division/Health Care Fraud and Abuse Section is seeking a Paralegal II. The purpose of this position is to provide secretarial and paralegal support to one or more litigating attorneys and investigative agents for the Health Care Fraud and Abuse Section (HCFA) in Tucson, AZ.  The position is responsible for preparing a variety of correspondence, pleadings, motions, petitions, briefs, legal forms and independently prepare correspondence.  Additionally, the position will be responsible for legal writing, legal research, process discovery, trial support and case management.  The position will assist in the investigation and prosecution of various types of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation cases of vulnerable persons or elders in Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) funded facilities.  The position will work closely with the assigned prosecutors on AHCCCS provider fraud cases.  Also, the position is responsible for data entry for statistical tracking purposes needed by the Phoenix office for federal and state reporting purposes. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, writing synopses, briefs and communicating with the Office of Victim Services Program staff.
