(Phoenix, AZ— September 22, 2003) Thanks to the efforts of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Foreign Prosecutions Unit, a Mexican court sentenced Antonio Perez Panduro to 42 years and 6 months in prison for the murders of Tammy Manuel and Evelyn Jackson in Chandler in 1982.
After killing the women, Panduro fled to Mexico. He was recently arrested in Colima, Colima, Mexico. With the assistance of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Panduro was tried, convicted and sentenced in Mexico.
“Justice must be served whether it is here or in Mexico,” said Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard. “This is another example of Arizona and Mexican officials working together to prosecute dangerous criminals.”
Assistant Attorney General Norma Martens assisted in prosecuting Panduro.
