AG Horne Announces Court Agreements Reached with Three Fiesta Bowl Defendants

PHOENIX (Tuesday, February 21, 2012) -- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne today announced that three defendants in the ongoing Fiesta Bowl criminal investigation have signed Plea Agreements admitting guilt to multiple criminal charges, and the Court has entered and accepted these pleas.  Among those accepting agreements in Maricopa County Superior Court is the organization’s former Chief Executive Officer of the Fiesta Bowl, John Junker.

AG Horne: AZ to Receive Approx $1.6 Billion as Part of National Mortgage Settlement

PHOENIX (Thursday, February 9, 2012) -- Attorney General Tom Horne announced that at 11:00 p.m. last night, Arizona reached agreement to join a landmark $25 billion joint federal-state agreement with the nation’s five largest mortgage servicers over foreclosure abuses and fraud, and unacceptable nationwide residential mortgage servicing practices.  Arizona’s share is over $1.6 billion.

The agreement reached last night includes settlement of Arizona’s separate lawsuit against Bank of America.

AG Horne: Bill to Replace Law Enforcement in Colorado City Passes Senate Committee Unanimously

PHOENIX (Wednesday, February 08, 2012) -- A bill which would have the effect of replacing law enforcement in Colorado City with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office this morning passed the Senate Government Reform Committee unanimously.

Attorney General Tom Horne testified that, of 17 bills he has suggested to the legislature, this one has the highest priority in terms of the safety and well being of Arizona citizens.

AG Horne Announces Arrests Of 12 People Connected To Multi-Million Dollar Mexican Marijuana and Cocaine Drug Trafficking Organization

PHOENIX (Friday, February 3, 2012) -- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne today announced the arrests of 12 of 26 suspected members of a large-scale marijuana and cocaine trafficking organization. Over 30,000 pounds of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine have been seized from this organization operating in Naco, AZ area since January of 2011. The street value is estimated to be between $9,000,000 and $15,000,000.
