Phoenix (Wednesday, March 27, 2013) – A multi-agency task force today announced an investigation leading to the identification of four people who work at Dollar Dayz general store located at 1602 West Buckeye Road in Phoenix for Illegally Conducting an Enterprise, Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, Money Laundering, Unlawful Use of Food Stamps and Computer Tampering.
Phoenix (Friday, March 15, 2013) – Attorney General Tom Horne made the following statement regarding the decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to throw out the death sentence and murder conviction of Debra Milke:
“We will be appealing this decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. If the Court takes the appeal, I will argue it personally as I have done in two previous cases over the past five months. In my last case, the Supreme Court accepted my argument and overruled the Ninth Circuit’s decision unanimously.

Phoenix (Wednesday, March 13, 2013) -- When voters passed Proposition 200 in 2004 to require proof of citizenship to register to vote, little did they know the issue would land in the nation's highest court -- nine years later. Horne is traveling to Washington, D.C. tomorrow to personally argue the constitutionality of the "Arizona Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act". which passed in 2004 as Proposition 200.
Phoenix (Monday, March 11) – Arizona’s law prohibiting courses that teach ethnic solidarity, rather than treating other students as individuals, was upheld as constitutional in a Federal District Court ruling issued Friday. The law was held to be constitutional, with one minor exception, Section (A)(3). The case was personally argued by Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne in Federal District Court in Tucson.

The U.S. Supreme Court will soon rule on a portion of federal law affecting Arizonans in ways you have not imagined.
Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act requires that certain states preclear with the U.S. Department of Justice any changes - no matter how minor - that affect voting. As my office explained in a friend of the court brief, preclearance for Arizona is irrational.
The case is brought by Alabama, with several other states joining Arizona’s brief.
PHOENIX (Friday, March 1, 2013) -- Automobile airbags undoubtedly save lives, but Attorney General Tom Horne is warning consumers that potentially dangerous and unreliable after-market airbags are being sold to individuals and businesses in Arizona.
“Phony airbags are a real problem because they often fail to work and pose a threat to human lives,” Horne said. “It is important that consumers buy the appropriate equipment and be on the lookout for counterfeits.”
