Attorney General Tom Horne: Tucson Jury Finds Dept. of Public Safety Officer and Wife Guilty on Theft and Related Charges

Phoenix, AZ (July 30, 2013) – Attorney General Tom Horne and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent in Charge Douglas G. Price today announced the jury convictions of 12-year veteran Department of Public Safety Officer Horacio Lomeli and his wife, Carmen Lomeli, on conspiracy, money laundering, and theft charges related to Mrs. Lomeli’s embezzlement of over $175,000 from her employer Sierra Seed, LLLP, based in Nogales, Arizona. Mrs. Lomeli also was convicted of fraud.

Attorney General Horne Wants EPA to Obey Law and Release Public Records Detailing Possible Collusion With Special Interest Groups

Phoenix (Monday, July 22, 2013) -- Attorney General Tom Horne has announced that Arizona has joined 11 other states in a lawsuit against the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), accusing the agency of not releasing public records that may shed light on why the EPA often chooses to settle – rather than litigate – lawsuits threatened by some environmental interest groups.
